All electives taken at other US medical schools must be approved by your advisor and the Office of Academic Affairs prior to participation, see the Electives Coordinator in Room C-118 to obtain the necessary form.
In order to receive credit for an outside elective, you must submit a copy of the confirmation letter sent by the outside institution to the Electives Coordinator. This letter must include the exact dates of your participation.
The Electives Coordinator will fill out the necessary portions of any formal applications which need to be submitted, and will obtain the necessary signatures, supporting letters from the Senior Associate Dean's Office, or transcripts, which must accompany an application. Should faculty recommendation letters be necessary rather than, or in addition to, any of the above items, it will be the student's responsibility to obtain such letters. It is suggested that faculty letters be obtained and submitted to the Electives Coordinator with your application, so that all necessary documentation can be mailed under one cover.
